The Counseling staff serve as consultants to individuals and groups in the MCCC community. Consultation involves sharing knowledge and expertise to assist others in responding effectively to mental health issues impacting the campus community.
We encourage the MCCC community to make referrals to the Counseling and Wellness Center (CWC) if you have concerns about a particular student. Due to confidentiality, the Counseling staff cannot disclose if a student contacted our office or receiving treatment. If assistance is needed, contact CWC during regular office hours and ask to speak to the senior counselor.
In the event of a psychological emergency situation on campus, contact Public Safety or/and 9-8-8.

TalkCampus is a free app where you can talk with other students from around the world about a wide range of mental health concerns. It's designed as an extra support system that's available 24/7. TalkCampus is based on peer support; you can use it if you need some help yourself, or you can provide support to others. While it's moderated by trained clinicians to maintain a safe environment, it isn’t a replacement for counseling or professional mental health support; it's a great place to start talking and to gain support and validation and can help you feel that right now you’re not alone. TalkCampus is anonymous and isn’t run by the MCCC Counseling Center.
You can download TalkCampus directly from the App Store or Google Play, or you can download it from this link: Click here. Once you've downloaded the app, your MCCC student email address will give you free access.
