Mercer women's soccer lost to Essex in overtime 2-3 in the Region 19 Championship held at Ocean County College.  Essex scored the first goal of the game and 2 minutes later sophomore Taylor Wright (Yardville, NJ/Steinert) scored the first Vikings' goal off a Lyndsey Buckley (Hamilton, NJ/Nottingham) assist.  Essex scored another first half goal and held the lead for most of the second half until sophomore Sarah Dintinger (Trenton, NJ/Hamilton West) scored the Vikings' second goal of the game with 3 minutes left to tie the game and force overtime.  Sophomore Katelyn Becker (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) assisted on Dintinger's goal. Essex scored the sudden death goal with just over 3 minutes left in the first overtime.  Sophomore goalkeeper Jackie Laurenti (Chesterfield, NJ/Northern Burlington) had 9 saves in the loss.  The Vikings finish the 2013 season with a 10-7-1 record.
