Mercer men's basketball opened their 2017-2018 season with a 67-74 loss to Cumberland in the Northampton Invitational.  Freshman John Evans (Camden, NJ/Camden) had a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds in his first collegiate game.  Freshman Eddie Williams (Clearwater, FL/Calvary Christian) had 14 points and 6 rebounds and freshman Donovon Guess (Camden, NJ/Leap Academy) had 14 points and 4 assists.  Freshman Yotam Paz (Hod Hasharon, Israel) added 7 points and 6 rebounds in the loss.
