Mercer men's basketball (1-4) won their first game of the 2015-2016 season, beating University of Pennsylvania's JV team 64-41 in a game played at the Palestra in Philadelphia.  Freshman Kevin Avent (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) led the Vikings with a double double, scoring 13 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.  Sophomore Salam Simon (Jackson, NJ/Jackson Memorial) had 12 points and 7 rebounds, freshman Devon Adams (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) had 11 points and 7 rebounds and sophomore Shelby Parris (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Twp.) added 10 points in the win.
