Mercer men's basketball (13-3) picked up a big Region 19 win, beating Essex on the road 63-55.  The win marks the first time Mercer has beaten Essex in four years.  Sophomore Dashante Alexander (Philadelphia, PA/Simon Gratz) led the Vikings with 18 points and sophomore David Johnson (Philadelphia, PA/Communications Tech) had 16 points and 4 steals.  Sophomore Mustafa El-Amin pulled down 11 rebounds along with 7 points, 4 steals and 4 assists.  Sophomore Tyliek Kimbrough (Brooklyn, NY/Boys and Girls) added 11 points and 7 rebounds and freshman Kevin Alexis (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) chipped in 8 points.
