Mercer baseball (33-9) clinched the top seed in the Region 19 Tournament following a sweep of Lackawanna in a Saturday doubleheader.  In Game 1, the Vikings won 9-2 and got off to an early 5-0 lead after two innings.  Sophomore pitcher Nick Economos (Worcester, MA/Worcester Academy) struck out eight in six innings and moved to 5-0 on the season.  Freshman Robert Boselli (Ventnor City, NJ/Holy Spirit) had a big day at the plate, going 4 for 4 with 2 doubles and 5 RBIs.  Sophomore Brandon Kirk (Yardville, NJ/Hamilton West) went 2 for 2 with a double and 2 RBIs and sophomore Joe Santospago (Doylestown, PA/Archbishop Wood) was 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs in the win.
