West Windsor, N.J. – NJ Hoops named Mercer County Community College (MCCC) freshman Alexander Lin NJ Junior College player of the week on January 20th. Lin is currently 10th in the nation for 3-point percentage, connecting on almost 50 percent of his 3-point shots.
A graduate of Pascack Valley High School, Lin’s senior year included back-to-back games with a season high of 33 points, as well as 18 3-pointers through his shortened, six-game season. During his junior and senior seasons, Lin scored in double-digits every time he stepped onto the court.
This season at Mercer, Lin averaged 24 points per game over his last four games. Against The County College of Morris on Jan. 9, Lin scored a season high of 30 points, making five out of seven 3-point shots.
“Alex has improved tremendously and is starting to realize how good he can be. We’ve made getting the ball to him a huge part of our offense and he’s come through,” said Head Coach Howard Levy. “He makes shots when he’s open, and he’s open a lot, so he’s shooting them.”
Lin’s effort and hard work is reflected on the court during every practice and game.
“He is there every day, never complains, never talks back, and never criticizes his teammates. He’s been a pleasure to coach,” said Coach Levy.
The Vikings will return home to host Bucks County Community College on Saturday, Jan 25th at 2 p.m.
